In wake of Brisbane’s devastating 2011 floods, Queensland Government held a competition to design new ferry terminals which were resilient to future flood events and accessible to all. Derlot teamed up with Cox Rayner Architects and Aurecon, winning the competition to deliver a new generation of ferry terminals both elegant and resilient replacing 20 terminals damaged by the floods.

The proposed design resulted in an enhanced experience of river travel, innovative infrastructure and an adaptable design for ferry terminals world-wide; particularly in the face of natural disasters.
