Cocoon

Alexander Lotersztain, 2026

Inspired by the organic geometry and protective softness of a butterfly’s cocoon, the design offers a petite yet generous lounge form that brings comfort, calm and a sense of being held to busy public environments.

An enveloping sense of comfort

Its enveloping, wrap-around back and integrated armrests create a subtle sense of privacy and support, while the carefully proportioned shell cradles the body, offering both relaxation and ergonomic lumbar comfort.

The result is a chair that bridges the typology between task seating and lounge, delivering a true “lounge experience” within the compact footprint required for high-performance transit environments.

Functional adaptability

Its unique segmented design enables smooth transitions between curved and linear elements, catering to both intimate and expansive settings.

With its organic silhouette, tactile softness and carefully engineered support, Cocoon introduces a new layer of warmth and human-centred design to contemporary airport and public spaces, offering an elegant, compact refuge within the scale and intensity of modern infrastructure.
